UN 2023 Water Conference

Special Accreditation for Non-Governmental Organizations and Other Stakeholders Second (Final) Round is now OPEN Apply by 2 December 2022!

In its resolution 73/226, the United Nations General Assembly decided to convene the UN 2023 Water Conference from 22-24 March 2023 in New York, emphasizing that water is critical for sustainable development and the eradication of poverty and hunger; that water, energy, food security and nutrition are linked; and that water is indispensable for human development, health and well-being and a vital element of achieving the SDGs.

The Conference will be co-hosted by the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Republic of Tajikistan.

STAKEHOLDER PARTICIPATION

Organizations that fall under the following categories will be able to request registration for their representatives to attend the UN 2023 Water Conference:
- Non-governmental organizations in consultative status with ECOSOC (Special, General or Roster consultative status). You can check if your organization has consultative status with ECOSOC here.
- Organizations that were accredited to the World Summit on Sustainable Development;
- Organizations that have received special accreditation by the General Assembly to participate in the UN 2023 Water Conference:
- Outcomes of the first round of Special Accreditation concluded in August 2022 can be found here.

Only representatives of organizations that fall within the above categories will be able to participate in the UN 2023 Water Conference.

SECOND (FINAL) ROUND OF SPECIAL ACCREDITATION IS OPEN!

Relevant non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations, academic institutions, the scientific community, the private sector and philanthropic organizations whose work is relevant to the Conference that are interested to participate in the UN 2023 Water Conference, but that are not in consultative status with ECOSOC, or that have not been accredited to either the Summit or during the first round of special accreditation, must apply for special accreditation here by 2 December 2022. This will be the final round of special accreditation for the UN 2023 Water Conference
